Getting Involved

Did you know?

Did you know black dogs are often the last to be adopted from an animal shelter? The general public is likely not aware of how doomed black dogs are when they are brought to the average animal shelter. In particular large black dogs like Labradors or Lab mixes, have a very difficult time getting adopted, and are euthanized at a staggering rate at many animal control facilities throughout the country. The sad truth is, they are overlooked in favor of lighter-colored dogs. Remember just like the color of your skin has no bearing on who you are inside, neither does the color of their fur.

Making a Donation

Kreitzer’s Critter Corral Puppy Rescue is run completely on donations.
Every donation made helps us in our efforts to save and find loving forever homes for abandoned / unwanted puppies
All donations are tax-deductible. Check to see if your company makes matching donations.
If you want to help us fulfill a need on our wish list, it’s really easy! A lot of our Wish List items can be purchased on our Amazon wish list and can be shipped directly to us. Thank you for supporting us!

What we do

Our Services

Rescuing Pets

We specialize in puppies & kittens 10 weeks and younger especially the orphaned and abandoned infant puppies who need to be bottle fed; as well as pregnant dogs and dogs who have recently given birth.

Animal Adoption

All of our adoptable pets are current on heartworm prevention, flea prevention and on all vaccines as age appropriate. Whenever possible, pets are socialized with cats, kids and other dogs as available. All pets adopted from us have a report card of health from our veterinarian partners prior to going to their new homes. During this visit they also receive a microchip for identification. The initial registration fee is included in with your adoption.

Finding Pets a Home

We pride ourselves on making sure we can find a safe and happy home for ALL of our animals. Why? Because you’ll save a life. Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet. Did you know black dogs are often the last to be adopted from an animal shelter?

Spay & Neuter

Our Spay/Neuter policy is as follows: If the pet you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered we offer the new pet parent two (2) options:

    1. The pet will be spayed/neutered at one of our partnered veterinary clinics. The cost of the surgery is included in the adoption.
    2. You can use your vet. We will refund $40.00 for puppies and $20.00 for kittens. You must provide proof of this in writing from your vet. All pets MUST be spayed or neutered no later than 6 months of age.

What Drives Us

Our Mission

To provide a safe & loving environment for puppies, pregnant dogs and dogs who have recently given birth.

Educate families on the importance of spaying & neutering their pets and making sure their pets are kept current on shots, heart-worm and flea prevention.

We help people to understand that pets are not disposable. They are members of the family.

“Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love…
they depart to teach us about loss.  new dog never replaces an old dog;
it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs, your heart is very big.”
-Erica Jong
